Safety gear is a matter of common sense and as such certain items must be worn by all tour participants. Mandatory gear includes; a D.O.T. approved helmet, eye protection, gloves, over the ankle boots, and long sleeve shirt and pants. Rain gear is mandatory for all riders, we will ride rain or shine, so good rain gear is a must. |

While additional protective gear is a personal decision, we at Enduro Adventures highly recommend the following list of gear, that we have been wearing for years. D.O.T. / Snell Approved off-road style helmet. Offroad helmets provide for increased ventilation and increase rider comfort and stamina. Eye Protection – Goggles, Shields, Safety Glasses. Todays generation of Dual Sport Helmets with shields are perfect for these tours, however, at slower speeds it helps to open face shields for ventilation and visual clarity, with shields open safety glasses maintain eye protection and still allow for cooling air flow. Offroad type pants and jerseys. These allow increased ventilation and are cut to accommodate padding and armor. Offroad style riding boots – for improved foot and ankle protection. Knee guards – Worn under offroad pants these help protect a vulnerable area. Chest protector / Shoulder pad – The utility is obvious, from sharp limbs, to flying rocks, to unexpected tip overs, and the odd one pound bug encountered on the paved section, it pays to be protected. Riding gloves – Being formed for holdling onto handlebars, proper riding gloves will help reduce hand and arm fatigue. Hydration systems - we highly recommend that all tour participants utilize hydration systems to fight dehydration on extended tours. |
